What an extraordinary portrait of a colourful marriage. Celebrating itself for what its personality is.

Banishing shame. Demonstrating radical acceptance.

Manisha ! This is so skilled..the metaphor and the marriage and the story of our lives online and off it. Very beautifully sketched. So complete and sumptuous!

No words seem apt or adequate enough to express what feelings & thoughts your essay evokes. Your theme & your expression are a masterclass on authentic, aware, courageous & compassionate encounter with one’s raw reality - tender & strong both at the same time.

Manisha I am deeply moved. And richly inspired.

Just. Too. Good!! It read like a commentary on a closely fought cricket match...until the sudden silence at the end. Kya likha hai aapne!❤️❤️

Thank you, Alaknanda. I have been trying to uncover why my partner and I have debated and argued on the smallest and biggest matters throughout our 30 years of marriage. Writing and rewriting this essay after feedback from Natasha and Raju Tai, helped me to understand that dissent, debate, and differences have kept us going. Writing that emerges from @Ochre Sky Stories is truly narrative therapy.

What an exquisitely painted inner landscape of relationships, in the home and the world.

(For a chronic conflict-avoider like me, this is a gift: I discovered a gamut of new emotions within this new landscape 🌸)

The first part of this essay made me feel nostalgic about my (done and dusted) married life in a manner that I never did before. I felt the urge to get married again just for those good old fights. This is the best thing I have read in a long while. Congratulations Manisha for this amazing work!
