Such searing, evocative writing Manisha. And so much you speak to as you tell the story of migration and sheer, complete absence of any kind of support systems for millions. Heart breaking.
A stab through the heart, this piece. It read like a tightly written screenplay! The images of Gopal wandering through the countryside were haunting in their detailing. Made me think how all of us with fancy jobs stand on the shoulders of our Pias and their heart rending stories. Superb writing.
it is always so good to read you. you take the reader to where the action is... outside the door, pummelling the wooden planks, on the boat, in the hospital bed staring at the sea...absolutely stunning!
What a stunning story, Manisha, written in your unique style. Direct and simple words that cut through the clutter and make you feel deeply. Love your writing and may you write more and more every day!
As always brilliant. I am a bit lost for words!!
That's a huge compliment.. coming from a writer of your brilliance
